Home Movie Day 2009

Este año, el Home Movie Day de Buenos Aires se celebrará como en el resto del mundo (ver acá) el 17 de Octubre. La cita es nuevamente en el Centro Cultural Rector Ricardo Rojas. Pronto más detalles.

Vayan desempolvando las viejas latas de películas y aquellos rollitos humedecidos de Súper 8, para una nueva tarde de emoción, alegría y descubrimiento.

Home movies - some from the 1920s - basis of Smokies film

By the late 1920s, automobiles and 16mm movie cameras were becoming more affordable, setting the stage for that great American pastime called the family vacation.

Early home movies shot in the Smokies reveal a landscape in recovery. While mountains and scenic waterfalls fill most of the frames, images of tree stumps and barren hillsides left over from decades of logging don't escape the camera's lens.

Disneyland home movie from 1956 makes Library of Congress's National Film Registry


Molly sez, "Robbins Barstow's film Disneyland Dream was included in this year's National Film Registry (25 films selected by the Library of Congress annually). He is a tireless advocate for amateur film and a great supporter of Home Movie Day. Steve Martin wrote to Robbins Barstow after the news of Disneyland Dream being selected for the Film Registry. Martin appears in the home movie, he's 11 years old and worked selling guidebooks. Go home movies!"
